This five-day, four-night itinerary covers Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the Grand Canyon, Furong and Fenghuang. Day-one Tianmen access must fit arrival and entry slots; prioritize the busy third day according to walking ability. The glass walkway and glass bridge are different attractions, with cableway and elevator fees checked separately. This is a reference route; accommodation, tickets, transport and fee coverage are subject to the confirmed quotation and itinerary.

Day 1Arrival in Zhangjiajie · Tianmen Mountain · Glass Walkway
Transfer on arrival in Zhangjiajie. Visit Tianmen Mountain only if transport and the reserved entry slot allow enough time. Choose mountaintop paths and the glass walkway according to access and personal preference.
Day 2Zhangjiajie National Forest Park · Yuanjiajie · Tianzi Mountain
Visit the Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain areas of the national forest park for sandstone pillars. Select routes for walking ability, checking elevator, cableway and sightseeing-bus use and costs in advance.
Day 3Golden Whip Stream · Ten-Mile Gallery · Grand Canyon Glass Bridge
Consider Golden Whip Stream, Ten-Mile Gallery and the Grand Canyon, retaining stops only after checking transfers and stamina. The glass bridge is optional, with participation and ticket arrangements confirmed separately.
Day 4Furong Town · Fenghuang Ancient Town Night Tour
Visit Furong’s streets and waterfall views within open areas, then continue to Fenghuang. Arrange the Tuojiang banks and Hong Bridge according to arrival time. Entry to former residences or city towers requires separate ticket and opening checks.
Day 5Fenghuang Morning Scenery · Departure
Early morning in Fenghuang is uniquely peaceful — mist drifts over the Tuojiang River, and stilt houses appear and vanish in the haze. Rise early for a riverside walk to capture the ancient town in the soft morning light. Take a scull boat ride on the Tuojiang to admire the town from the water. Enjoy free time to explore and shop for Miao silver jewelry, batik fabrics, and other local handicrafts. In the afternoon, a private car will transfer you to Zhangjiajie or Tongren Fenghuang Airport according to your departure schedule, concluding your western Hunan adventure.

What to confirm before booking

Are the glass walkway and glass bridge in the same place?

No. Tianmen Mountain’s glass walkway and Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon’s glass bridge are in separate attractions. Confirm tickets and participation conditions individually. Travelers who dislike heights or wish to skip them should request a separately assessed alternative route.

How do admission and park transport differ?

Check forest-park admission, shuttle buses, Bailong Elevator and each cableway against the specific ticket. Once the daily route is chosen, itemize transport and quotation inclusions in writing; a single admission label does not establish every entitlement.

Can we visit Tianmen Mountain immediately after arrival?

It depends on arrival time, transfers, luggage and the reserved entry slot. A late arrival requires a different date. Day three’s Golden Whip Stream, Ten-Mile Gallery and Grand Canyon also need a realistic timing check; all activities are not guaranteed.
